Nigeria's income per head: $994 or $1,700?

Why this gap?

The UN converts Nigeria's GNI at each year's market exchange rate, so the naira's 2023–2024 collapse shows up at once: $994 per head in 2024. The World Bank's Atlas method averages three years of exchange rates precisely to smooth such swings and prints $1,700 — one series shows the shock as it happens, the other spreads it over three years.
